While working for Vitrue’s Client Delivery team I was responsible for the front-end implementation of custom Facebook pages developed on the Vitrue platform. In some cases the platform didn’t meet the needs of the clients, I then worked with other Ruby on Rails engineers to deliver a custom Facebook application.

Implemented front-end HTML/CSS and Javascript on the Vitrue’s Social Relationship Management platform.

Rapidly developed Facebook apps for Fortune 500 companies using a mixture of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Ruby on Rails.

Provided necessary support for Vitrue’s Social Relationship Management platform to high-profile clients.

Worked on a number of high-profile Facebook pages including, Microsoft Windows, Samsung, Intel and Intuit TurboTax.

UX work while at Vitrue

As with allot of projects sometimes the scope and requirements are not fully thought through when working with a client, in this case I discussed with the client their needs, used prototyping tools such as Adobe Fireworks and delivered them wireframes that would help them realize their intended goals.

In most cases the wireframes would require very little revision and they could be used to start developing the final artwork and implementation of the project.

Above: Wireframes created for the Facebook.com Intel Deals page.

While working for EADOC as a software engineer my duties included the following:

Led the UI strategy for new major features within the application creating mockups in Adobe Fireworks.

Designed and developed a flexible templating PDF printing system to allow clients to customize printouts for pay estimates, contract change requests, and change orders, to match their current printouts that they are familiar with.

Implemented a 200% speed improvement throughout the existing reporting framework.

Developed a robust XML export system that allowed all internal documents types to be exported to other platforms or for archival purposes.

Made numerous software improvements and bug fixes throughout the web application using my skills in PHP, MySQL, Javascript and AJAX.

Above: Developed both the front-end and back end of a more robust meeting scheduler tool for the meeting manager.

Above: Using prototyping tools such as Fireworks I developed quick wire frames for discussing design ideas, in this case for the revised Meeting Manager tool.

Other major software contributions while at EADOC:

Standard EADOC printouts received the ability to print attached images with layout options of 1 image per page, 2 images per page and 4 images per page layouts.

Improved the emailing of shared PDF’s and attachments in the document share system.

Added the ability for custom letterheads, footers and watermarks to be added to the standard EADOC printouts.

Fixed the document uploading tools to support up to 2 gigabyte files.

The file browser box, a primary interface component of the application, was made adjustable.

Added new filtering to the PPO, Schedule of Values and Change Order areas of the application.

The announcement module was updated to allow users to add links and attachments.

Added the ability to specify recurring meetings with more precision. Weekly, bi-weekly, on specific days of the week, monthly, yearly, etc., as well as the ability to set the end date for the meetings.

Meeting Manager document printing was greatly improved.

Designed the general user-interface for the application ensuring team members adhered to the design principles.

Developed the needs requirements and specifications for the application with the client.

Developed the third version of the reporting tool, adding features such as date-range reporting, multiple report summations, additional report filters and performance enhancements.

Developed the Transfers Office module, which allowed staff to track intradistrict and interdistrict transfers, transfer reasons, transfer statuses and much more. Reporting tools were also extended to report on Transfer Office specific information.

Custom Benefit Services needed a way to provide their incentive program participants with up-to-date information about their accounts. An online web application that allows participants, providers and sponsors to monitor their plans was the solution.

Custom Benefit Services (CBS) has built a business helping companies provide retirement options for commission-only sales teams (1099). CBS requested a web application to move their business from 100′s of spreadsheets once on a desktop to an integrated business application.

As part of the development team for the application (called the Production Incentive Program Administrative Assistant) I was responsible for development, user-interface design, debugging and testing.

Key highlights of my contributions included:

Developed the initial user-interface mock ups for most aspects of the application. Assisted other developers in tweaking their user-interfaces to best adhere to the design principles.

Developed the Vesting module that reports individual vesting on a real-time basis.

Developed in conjunction with other developers several new incentive plan types within the system.

Developed the Arbitrary Units module, which allowed the admin to define arbitrary plan units such as Dollars, Euro, Cars, Widgets, etc for the teared bonus plans.

I was the lead quality assurance engineer, making sure all functionality, reports and screens functioned to the clients specifications.

Incentive Plan Editing Screen

Administrators can implement several different plan types with this highly configurable plan editing screen. Option include pure bonus plans, plans based on a percentage, plans based on a tiered production and more.

Contribution Screen

The contribution screen was designed to be a fast data-entry screen for administrators. The screen supports Excel style data entry which is immediately saved via Ajax to the database. Billing summaries are also available for the given time period.
